Alistair Group recently assisted one of our clients to secure large exemptions for their new project. Our client required the importation of a Processing Plant. Our clearance team assisted them in getting an exemption of Import Duties and approval of the VAT Deferment. These all amounted to over $2,000,000 of cash savings/deferments, of which the client paid $0.

Our team was able to accomplish this exemption by engaging with the Customs Department at Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and requesting approval for partial shipment importation. We lodged letters and had several meetings with TRA officers and commissioners to make the approval possible. The involvement of our clearing team in the importation process guarantees our clients a quick and efficient clearance of their shipments without incurring any additional charges associated with clearance delays.
